Event: Edmonds Jazz Walk

Graphite is once again a venue for the Edmonds Jazz Walk on May 30, 2026.

One ticket, sixteen venues, one night of incredible jazz!

6:00pm – 9:00pm @ Graphite – Steve Treseler Quartet
Steve Treseler is an award-winning Seattle-based saxophonist, composer, and innovative educator hailed by Earshot as a “firebrand of the tenor saxophone,” with DownBeat praising his music as “beautifully crafted…whether free, through-composed, or somewhere in between.” He performs widely across North America and Europe, with appearances at Birdland, Blue Note Hawaii, and NPR’s Jazz Night in America, and is an active presence in the Pacific Northwest scene, collaborating with artists such as Ingrid Jensen, Johnaye Kendrick, and Jim Knapp. His recordings as a leader include Center Song and Invisible Sounds: For Kenny Wheeler, the latter named one of DownBeat’s best albums of 2019, as well as his latest release, The Grind (2025). In addition to exploring projects that span jazz, songwriting, and experimental music, Treseler is a dedicated teaching artist and founder of Infinite Improvisation, leading workshops and residencies worldwide. A graduate of New England Conservatory and the University of Washington, he is also the author of two widely used instructional books and a Conn Selmer performing artist.

9:00pm – 12:00am @ Graphite – Boxley Quintet featuring Jared Hall & Kandin Neri
Pianist Danny Kolke is the heart and soul behind Boxley’s and the JazzClubsNW organization. An electrifying performer influenced by Oscar Peterson, Gene Harris and Chick Corea, Kolke delivers muscular lines and gospel-infused harmony with passion and finesse.

Trumpeter and composer Jared Hall blends post-bop tradition with modern harmonic storytelling, creating music marked by lyricism, rhythmic clarity, and expressive depth. A Spokane native and winner of the 2013 National Trumpet Competition (Jazz Division), Hall has performed with artists including Maria Schneider, Paquito D’Rivera, Terence Blanchard, Arturo Sandoval, and George Benson, and appeared at venues such as Carnegie Hall and major jazz festivals across the country. His recordings as a leader include Hometown (2026), Influences (2024), and Seen on the Scene (2021), earning praise for being “fiery and fluid…steeped in tradition but pushing forward.” An in-demand educator, Hall has taught at institutions nationwide and currently serves as Director of Jazz Studies at Whitworth University. He is also Artistic Director of the Leavenworth Jazz Association, co-author of The Piano Grip System, and an active performer and mentor throughout the Pacific Northwest.
