Class: Gilded Nature Treasures
Using a step-by-step method, you will learn how to confidently create your own little masterpieces. In session one, you will learn how to paint a simple flower and/or butterfly in watercolor. In session two, you will learn how to apply gold leaf to your favorite piece. Along the way we’ll share some fun botanical painting tidbits, the history of gilded works on paper and have some fun!
There is a $25 supply fee payable to the instructor on the first night of class which includes all supplies – watercolor paints, paper, brushes and gold. This class is designed for beginners as well as skilled artists.
About Tamara Lee:
Tamara is a self-taught artist inspired by a lifelong love of plants and animals. She earned a degree in horticulture from Washington State University and enjoyed 15 years as Marketing Director of Swansons Nursery in Seattle. Ever curious of nature and various art processes, she uses a variety of mediums to depict plant and animal subjects, including: graphite, watercolor, oil, egg tempera and water gilding. Come visit Tamara in her studio at Graphite Arts Center during open hours to see what’s new – there might be a fun experiment that ends up on the next class list!
