Class: Creative Drawing Techniques

Explore the expressive possibilities of drawing through a variety of traditional materials and mark-making techniques. This course introduces students to creative approaches using pencil, pen, charcoal, and ink to develop personal style, improve technical skills, and experiment with texture, contrast, and composition. Through a combination of guided exercises, observational drawing, and imaginative projects, students will gain experience using each medium individually and in combination.

This foundational class will build confidence and skills that students can use as a springboard for their own creative practice. Ray is planning on offering another Plein Air class in the spring/summer of 2026 and this class would make a great precursor for those wanting to expand their skills and deepen their visual vocabulary.

There is a $15 supply fee payable to the instructor on the night of class. This is an explorational class for all levels – beginners to advanced – everyone is welcome to come and make art with us. No experience is necessary.
