Class: Watercolor for Relaxation – June 2026
Unwind and let go with watercolor painting. This class is designed to help you de-stress through the process of painting. We will begin with a few warm-up exercises followed by a 10-minute visualization to help you completely relax. Then tapping into our intuition, we will use watercolor painting to calm our minds.
Along the way Missy will share watercolor techniques, painting tips and color theory. There is a $10 supply fee which includes the use of professional watercolor paints, paper and brushes. This class is about using the process of painting as a mindfulness tool removing the stress of having to create a product. No watercolor experience is necessary. NOTE: The image above is the project we will be doing.

About Missy Hancock:
Missy has a Masters Degree in Teaching from Seattle University and a combined 20+ years of experience teaching in and out of the classroom. In 2022, she started Rooted Design, LLC with the hope to bring positivity and purpose to people’s lives through art. She believes there is an artist inside all of us and strives to encourage people to make something beautiful. Missy is also the Director of School Programs for Art Start NW, a non-profit that operates inside of Graphite Arts Center. We share lessons, art supplies and art opportunities to teachers.
