Class: ArtLab – Mixed Media Collage
Using papers created with gelli prints and inks*, you’ll experiment with layering, tearing, cutting, and combining materials to create textured, dynamic mixed media collages. Different types of composition and color theory will be discussed as well as how to take individual images and combine them to create a cohesive design.
*We are using papers that were created in the ink and gelli print classes. If you did not take those classes you are welcome to sign up for the collage class and use other papers from our collage bin (or bring some papers from your own stash).
About ArtLab classes:
This class is part of our spring 2026 ArtLab series which involves two classes of paper design that will culminate in a third class of mixed media collage using all of the papers that you created.
Graphite’s ArtLab classes are where experimentation and collaboration is encouraged, process is favored over product and methods & materials help you discover new sources of inspiration. These classes are designed to be taken together sequentially – but you don’t have to. You can sign up for one, two or all three.
This is an explorational class for all levels – beginners to advanced – everyone is welcome to come and make art with us. All supplies are provided, but feel free to bring your own supplies you’d like to experiment with (and any papers that you made in the other ArtLab classes).
