What’s Next in the Gallery at Graphite – 2025 Exhibition Schedule

It’s been an exciting start to 2025 at Graphite Arts Center! We kicked off the year with NuDNW, a compelling juried show featuring work by artists from around the region, alongside our Valentine Pop-Up. Currently on view is Past, Present, Future, an invitational exhibit celebrating the 20th anniversary of the Edmonds Art Studio Tour. This show honors long-time EAST participants and runs through April 26, with a reception held on March 22.

As we look ahead, we’re thrilled to share the rest of our 2025 gallery season:

May 3 – June 21: Deelish!
We all eat—and in Deelish!, we celebrate the vibrant, sensual world of food. From rich colors to tempting textures, artists are invited to create visual feasts that go beyond still life to evoke full sensory experiences. The show opens with a reception on Saturday, May 3.

June 6 – 28: Rainbow Pop-Up
June is the month of rainbow color (and love), and Graphite Arts Center is somewhere over the rainbow to present this pop-up exhibit.   For this prismatic show we are seeking distinctive interpretations of the emblematic, kaleidoscopic arc.Join us for a closing reception on June 28.

June 27 – August 9: Seeing Our Planet
This summer exhibit brings together Northwest artists responding to climate change. Through works that are beautiful, haunting, or contemplative, the show encourages reflection on our environment. Featured emerging artist Amelia Digiano will present eight photographs from her series Portraits of a Planet in Crisis. Reception: Friday, July 11.

August 15 – October 4: TOOLS: Form and Function
TOOLS: Form and Function is all about everyday objects we rely on, re-imagined through artistic interpretation. Expect everything from nostalgic hand tools to futuristic devices. Reception: Friday, August 15.

October 3 – November 1: Skeleton Pop-Up
In the spirit of the spooky season, this pop-up show explores the skeleton as both symbol and structure. From anatomical studies to whimsical takes on the macabre, artists are encouraged to get creative with bones. Reception: Saturday, October 11.

October 10 – November 29: Teen Open Call
A community teen exhibit open to middle and high school students, Teen Open Call invites young artists to submit their finest work. For many, this will be their first time exhibiting in a professional gallery. Reception: Saturday, October 11.

December 5 – January 3: D’Elaine Johnson Retrospective
We close out the year with a solo retrospective of Edmonds-based artist D’Elaine Johnson, featuring her powerful, large-scale paintings of goddess figures. This exhibit honors her long and influential career and her vibrant contributions to the local arts community. Reception: December 6.

We hope to see you soon at one of our openings when artists are there to talk about their work.  The gallery’s public hours are Friday and Saturday from 1PM – 5PM.  For more information email  Tara Shadduck at gallery@graphiteartscenter.org.
